I am familiar with Hispanic culture which incorporates Spanish baby names , and one of the most wonderful things about it is that they use Spanish names to carry on tradition.

Just be aware that two of the most important elements in Hispanic culture -which are the people from the countries that were colonized by Spain therefore they speak Spanish- are family and religion.

Why do I say this? so you are aware that Spanish baby names are mainly biblical (Catholic religion) and are also passed down from generation to generation making them very old.

Also many of the Spanish baby names are now a days getting a makeover based on the mixed marriages that are occurring more specifically in the U.S.

So it all depends of the kind of Spanish name you want for your little one...traditional, more modern or biblical.

Spanish names are very much in fashion right now and this is supported by the number of Spanish baby names reported by the Social Security Administration.

Some of my favorite names for boys are:
1-Alejandro which is from the Greek Alexandros and means: the protector and defender.
2-Eduardo which comes from the English Edward, and means: guardian of prosperity.
3-Tomas is a biblical name of one of the twelve apostles of the new testament. It is from the Arameic Tom. Means: twin.

For girls I like:
1-Mia. More used in Spain that Latin America.
2-Isabel, which is a biblical name.
3-Ana which means grace and is also a biblical name.

I think it all depends on your taste and what you want to achieve with the name. I like to name my children with names that signify something important to me and that carry some tradition at the same time, but it is all about preferences at the end.

Love Diego, though cartoon Dora's cousin might be a spoiler.

For a girl, I love Luz, but it might be too abrupt, depending on your surname.
