My child is going to be on TMi (a BBC kids programme) towards the end of october, and she is fretting over what she should wear. Does anyone have any ideas? (She is 10)

Clothes would be nice...

Okay, seriously now ------

For most on-camera appearances the costume or wardrobe person will be in charge. You bring to the set with you several outfits to choose from, the wardrobe person puts together the final outfit for the on-camera taping.
It's best to bring a variety of clothes with you to the studio. Regardless of your daughter's age, you should avoid too-tight or revealing clothes. You should also leave at home shirts or jeans with large logos or printed words of any kind (yes, leave the "Princess Brat" t-shirt at home!)
And no white, unless it is a shirt worn under a black or colorful sweater.
Try to pick out plain clothes with minimal prints and articles you can layer over another. Bring shirts of several styles and pretty colors like pink, plum, burgundy, and black (avoid too much pink, too much black, yellow, and lime green, unless it's the 'in' color right now). Bring jeans she likes and pants that fit just right (again, not too tight) or baggy if she wears them well. Bring lacy sweaters to go over or mute a bright shirt, bring clean plain shoes to match in brown or black leather.
But do bring a variety and let the wardrobe person put together the outfit at the set. What she wears to the set may be pretty but may not end up being quite not be right in the end, and having only one outfit reduces her chance of getting on camera in a crowd.
Have fun and congratulations.

Watch the show to see what the other kids on the program are wearing. That should give her an idea of what is typical and how dressy or casual she should get.

don't let her wear all white . It blows the person wearing it out like a balloon . Put a print on her , preferably a pretty dress and congrats , we don't get that over here in the states ...

She should not wear something to fancy, but it should still be decent. Something casual, but still looks nice.
