What I did was, I vacuumed everything and I used a spray that I got at Home Depot called Enforcer Flea Spay. It was very reasonable. I also used Frontline on the Feline Americans,( I used Adams fles spray on them also about 2 weeks later, probably wasn't necessary but was just not taking any chances) and washed all the bedding in the house.Be sure you vacuum all upholstered furniture and spray them. Then repeat in (I think it's three weeks, it will tell you on the spray) to catch any stray eggs that you may have missed before they hatch. Worked for me. Haven't seen one since and it's been years. God bless!!

You need a professional exterminator to come in and exterminate your house. Then he needs to keep returning every so often (he will tell you the time limit) because the fleas are laying eggs throughout your house. He also needs to turn your furniture on its side and treat those areas too.

As long as you have animals, you will have fleas.

Our two neighbors have dogs, but our yard gets the fleas too.

We use Scotts Lawn Pro Step 3 Insect Control With Fertilizer. Be sure to read the directions before buying. You can buy it locally.

Cautions
Do not treat only brown areas of the lawn. To prevent further damage, treat the entire lawn.

Do not use on fruit or vegetable plantings. Do not allow traffic on lawn until it has dried."

Wash the pet in a really good flea bath stuff. (I use BIOSPOT)

Bomb the house with a flea and tick bomb, be sure to follow directions.

Go to petsmart and get ADAMS CARPET POWDER (carpet sprinkle) for fleas.

Sprinkle it on the floor and let set for 24-48 hours, then vac as usual.

Read Directions on can first.

You should use a mixture of boric acid and salt. Boric acid acts as a desiccant and dries out the exoskeleton of the flea, but does not have any side effect on human beings or animals. Check this out http://pests.in/fleas.html
