ok aubrey will be 7months this saturday the 22nd, she doesnt' sit up on her own but if we sit her up she'll sit there then roll to her side...she'll sit up for about 5min. then fall or get mad. she 's been rolling since she was 4 1/2 months got her two bottom teeth at 5months then just stopped getting and doing new things! when she lays on her stomach she'll kick like she's flying and push herself a little bit but wont put an knee up to crawl if we put her in a crwaling posistion she'll just fall over on her face. she has really strong legs whenever anyone plays with her if she can she will pull herslef up with the help of us and stand there by herself, we will have our hands hovering around her if she falls but most of the time she will stand on her own but still be leaning on something just to keep her in place. she just barely starting holding her own bottle like three weeks ago........is she slow in development or what??
am i just being worried over nothing??

She could have a condition called hypotonia which is low muscle tone. I'd bring up your concerns with her doctor. If she does have hypotonia then the doctor will probably refer you to a physical therapist that specializes in pediatrics. But even before that your doctor might refer Aubry to a neurologist or other specialist. If so don't be alarmed it would be just to make sure of the diagnosis. You are your baby's best advocate so if her doctor pooh-poohs your worries either keep after him/her until you're satisfied or look for another doctor.

We had to do this for our son when he was an infant. We saw several developmental pediatricians but about all they would tell us was he seemed happy and healthy. Big whoop! He wasn't able to do things most babies were able to do that were months younger than him. We finally found a great doctor and got him some help. Good luck to you and Aubry.

Doesn't sound slow to me! Sounds like she's making steady progress and is healthy and strong - that is the important thing.

From babycenter.com, here's the 7 month milestones (but I wouldn't be overly concerned with it):

Mastered Skills (most kids can do) :
• Sits without support
• Drags objects toward herself

Emerging Skills (half of kids can do) :
• Lunges forward or starts crawling
• Jabbers or combines syllables
• Starts to experience stranger anxiety

Advanced Skills (a few kids can do):
• Waves goodbye
• Stands while holding onto something
• Bangs objects together
• Begins to understand object permanence

It sounds like she's just about right!

Keep in mind that ALL children develop at a different pace. I have a 6 month old daughter who is sitting by herself (not pulling herself up....but holding the upright stance we put her in)....; however, she isn't rolling over as well as I think she should! I don't think you have anything to worry about....but if it continues to trouble you, always ask your pediatrician...they know best!

each baby develops at his/her own pace so I wouldn't worry to much. However, if the pattern continues please discuss it with your pediatrician at your next well baby visit.

Also, do you belong to Parents as Teachers? That is a wonderful program that allows the development of your child to be watched plus gives you numerous options on how to play with your child to develop necessary skills for their age range. It is free so call your public school to find out more information.

It is never worrying over nothing, but all babies develop at different rates. Some will refuse to crawl and go stright to walking. If you have concerns talk with your pediatrician, but everything sounds just fine!

She sounds fine to me. All babies do new things at different times. Do you have a Bumbo seat? That helped my son with sitting up....but she's only 7 months, she sounds right on to me. Don't stress about it, I am sure she's fine. =)

But if you're really concerned talk to her doctor about it.

Babies develop at different paces. Babies don't know that they are supposed to follow a development schedule. They do things when they want, when they can.
