You stated ' oil in the spark plugs ' & didn't mention blue smoke outta the exhaust pipe. So I'm gonna ask if your engine has the plugs recesed into tubes ? Meaning oil on the spark plugs above the sealing washer. Some times these tubes leak oil due to hard sealant from the factory. I just pull'em apart, clean & reassemble with #2 permatex and use all the old valve cover seals if OK. Also, the plug wires will need replacement due to oil saturation. =^ )

If you have oil on the outside, where the plug wire connects, then, NO. You will need to replace the valve cover gasket, plugs and wires.

If oil is on the inside, where the piston is then Yes. It is most likely that the valve stem seals are bad and will need replacing. Does the truck smoke out the tailpipe? that is a good sign of major problems.

There are two possable causes of getting oil in spark plugs:
1. worn piston rings or 2. worn valve guides. Both problems
require a lot of work and expense. It might be cheaper to replace the engine,

Yes you are.. Worn out piston rings. Needs an overhaul ASAP. The compression on the pistons are really low, so your performance suffers big time.

Worn out valve guides will foul the plugs but performance will be ok once the plugs get cleaned, but it will foul again due to oil passing to the chamber from the intake valve, so the vicious circle continue.

My call, on this case are piston rings.

First thing to check is the oil level. If it is overfilled, drain some out (and perhaps do an oil change) and change the plugs. If the problem persists, then there is an internal fault and a rebuild/replacement is required.

My guess the rings on the pistons are worn. You might try an oil additive-may help a little. A hotter spark plug may help a little also.

Yes oil on the sparkplugs means trouble, worn engine and the only hope is that it is the valve stem oil seals which wouldnt be to expensive----check to make sure the engine breather isnt blocked
