If they did they would not have discovered many places & would have ended up in a small port where they could not sail out from.
Good job they had the stars & compass to guide them.
I can just see Captain Cook using one & ending up stranded on a beach in England a few hours after he set sail.

I assume this is a rhetorical question - if not you must be a bit dim as you can't have sat-nav without satellites and years ago the technology wasn't there to support them!!!

Lol. I dunno though, you hear stories of peoples sat navs driving them off cliffs. If they had sat-navs in their boats or something they might accidently float off the edge of the world, because it was flat back then.
