There's been a huge discussion this year about fixing the "bear problem" in the west. Seems the bears are not finding any food or water in the mountains and now they're coming into town looking for alternative sources. Some folks wanted to give food drops to help these animals out. But, wildlife experts say to let nature take it's course.

That got me to thinking. Shouldn't we do the same for the left. Why give them free health care, free housing, food stamps, WIC, welfare, etc...why not let nature take it's course? This will solve 99% of the social program issues we have in this country. I think the 08 slogan for the right should be "Let nature take it's course, vote Republican".

So let the poor, temporarily disadvantaged, and disabled starve to death? Quite a bold platform, but i think it does suits the extreme right-wing just fine. You should run with it.

Not a bad slogan. Why dont you go to CafePress and snag a free shop to put it on tshirts and bumperstickers. You might make something of it. Or tell me that I can use it.

As to the actual question, everything has its pros and cons. We are a charitable people. However the laws of evolution catch up eventually if you support non-viable populations. One the other hand, it might be easy for some to logically agree that when resources get tight then non-earning individuals should not get any but on a one-on-one case its pretty hard to tell that person that they dont get some.

The Republican thing about "let the charities" take care of it isnt bad as a plan. But personally, Im sorry. I could never vote for it.

Survival of the Fittest (believe it or not that came from the social concept, not from discussing animals in the wild)

It is a common misconception among rightwing ideologues that the only people on TANF, food stamps and the like are lazy good for nothings who are sucking on the government teat. This is not the case. The predominant social group who avail themselves of these services are the working poor and young single mothers.

http://www.acf.hhs.gov/programs/ofa/annualreport6/chapter10/chap10.htm

The predominant races getting support are blacks, who slightly edge out white, though not by much.
I think your opinion on letting nature take its coure is right on the money. Working poor and young people are waking up to the arrogance and snobbishness inherent within rightwing talking points and views. The smugness and heartlessness you show toward those less fortunate than you says much. Are these the fine Christian values you may espouse? Many people in our country are waking up to the fact that greed, selfishness and looking out for number one are the ways that are dying now. No, I don't think that people should be allowed to make a lifestyle out of welfare, but neither do I think that we can ignore the neediest among our society. Give the needy a hand up, an education, so that they will be able to join the ranks of the contributors in our society. If they don't want to go to school to enhance their capabilities in wage earning, then they can go to work. Nobody in this country should be shunted aside and ignored because of need. The US is too rich and too powerful to let it go unresolved.
Letting nature take it's course will allow the disenfranchised to have a say in the next election. Hopefully, they will see and vote in their own best interests. Either way, the people will have spoken.

The hungry bears are threatening homes and persons, so there could be bear attacks and innocent people hurt. Of course with the liberals the Gestapo could just make them disappear in the night. Unfortunately you are right, letting nature take it course can be ugly. There are always those men that will step up to surround a fascist government or a dictatorship to be hatchet men. The far right seems to have plenty of goons to do the job.

70% of Americans want these programs in some form or another. Republicans get on food stamps as well and from time to time need WIC, welfare and housing. Since you can't selectively choose who gets the help, you'll starve and kill of members of your party as well. Cutting the nose off in spite of your face is pretty stupid don't you think?

No, that would not do. There will always be the poor among us, said a great teacher (The Son of God). We are supposed to take care of our fellowman. We must be responsible though and make these programs workable. The Democrates want to control everything, in regard to people's lives. The government doesn't have to be in every detail of our lives - some things we can do for ourselves. Keep the taxes low and the economy will grow. Kennedy know it, Reagan knew it, Bush knows it. Let the people have their own money in their pocket and make their own decisions. Republicans are for the people. Democrates are for big government. Put the Republicans back in office.

put a rich man and a poor man in a cage and the poor man will be picking his teeth with the rich man, but fools spout natural selection but difficulty builds toughness, luxury build softness, I'd bet on the guy who's been kicked his whole life over the one never kicked. Your real issue is opportunity and that is often not equal, no rich daddy, no collage, limited intelligence, often due to upbringing. there are hundreds if not more variables. but you still think you had it tough and so everyone else is lazy or stupid or......

Wow, are you really that dumb.

This whole myth that most democrats are on welfare is a horrible lie like most other things the right says. I know many democrats and not one of them is on welfare. If you actually looked at voter demographics you would see that a very small minority of registered democrats are below the poverty line, most are middle class. In fact, there about as many republicans that live below poverty as there are democrats.

It seems to me that you are refering more to minority groups like the black and hispanic communities more so then democratic voters. These people are supportive of our party because we actually care about them unlike the ignorant racists known as the republican party.

This question, although you can hardly call it that, shows fully how you personally and the majority of modern day conservative republicans are: Racist, unintelligent, uninformed, ignorant, selfish, slanderous, hypocritical, and corrupt.

Way to represent you party there cheif.

As appealing as it may sound, I am glad humans have the ability to look after the weak. I do not wish death on anyone, not even the bears.
However this does not mean that we should allow the weak to be equal to the strong...help them become stronger don't encourage them to remain weak.

How about letting all Republicans live under a dictatorship. Isn't that what Republicans want?
