lt's the reason why he was beaten you're failing to grasp. Sure this is America, so as Americans we all have the right to be treated equally, and this is not showing up in this case. They are trying to boys under assault, did you know that is a felony? Did you know that they will probably spend the beginning of their life in a prison with murderers and theives? You think the white boy is the victim because of your ignorance, he is the victim of an unnecassary assault, but he is also the attacker with his racist actions. No one is saying the boy's were wrong, but it is an unfair treatment that they are recieving. These kids were students! There are always these kinds of incidents at high schools but have you ever heard of them being tried for attempted murder? The kid should have been suspended or expelled, not treated as top listed criminals. If you read the news you would see that althought the white man's face was a bit swollen, he was still even able to go to a social event later on that evening. They have blown this incident out of proportions and will lead to ruining the future's of 6 boys. If this had been a black on black crime do you think it would still have been as prominent as it was? Think again.

People forget about the actual victim of an incident such as this, and tend to take sides based on other factors, such as:
race
religion
politics
etc.
What if 6 white kids had beaten a black kid? Where would these same complainers be sided then?
Remove RACE from it, and just say that 6 kids beat 1 kid, and let the courts do their job!!!!!

Its not that the black kids were completely in the right, nor was the kid who was beat up that supposedly helped make the noose. The issue is that the kids who were charged were not suspended for a fight, but tried for attempted murder. The charges are completely out of order because the kid who was beat up went to a party that same night. The tensions between the races in that town have been simmering for a while, the incident just magnifies whats been going on. It is true that racism still exists, we as a people need to come to an understanding and learn to talk to our neighbours about this issue.

It's because of the Rev. Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton. They are trying to say that the black kids are the victims. Who cares if the white kid could have died or not, the black kids are being picked on because they are black, right?? WRONG!

when it comes right down to it it was probably the black kids fault they have always taunted white people they blame us for slavery when in reality the blacks sold their own people into slavery I think the races should be separated again like it used to be and these so called Afro Americans that love Africa so much should be sent there to live

There are a lot of misguided bigots out there- be ware.

ADD: Theo- you think those boys knew that what they were doing was a felony?
I guess if they didn't want to be in trouble they wouldn't have done it.
It's very simple they chose to commit a crime regardless of whatever crime soneone else committed- it is a crime
2 wrongs don't ever make a right.

Are you some kind of communist? Lynching is a great American tradition, sanctioned by the State of Texas and the Bush Administration.

Isn't that what is going on in Iraq? We had a crime, rounded up a posse and tried to head them off at the Kyber Pass. When that didn't work, we lynched a few other ******* to make ourselves feel safer. That's the American way.

Those poor young black men just lynched a white boy, in our national tradition. They were being good Americans. Since they could not find the person who hung up the nooses in the tree, they picked on the white boy they could find.
