I have large breasts and am constantly trying to find ways of making them look smaller (till I can afford a reduction operation as they cause me a lot of discomfort). I wear a minimiser bra which is okay. I don't wear anything with a low neckline or fitting tight across the chest. I worry about looking frumpy though. Any ideas?

make sure you wear a v-neck, also buy your bra big enough... most women wear the wrong bra. try a button-up blouse (make sure it's not too tight around your chest) and a sportsbra underneath it.
maybe you should just try to become comfortable with your breast size. many woman pay thousands of dollars to have a large chest.

Hi
First of all get a decent well fitting bra - I find that minisers flatten me out but give a kind of squashed sausage shape. If you are anywhere near a Bravissimo then go for a fitting there. People nearly always need a smaller back size and larger cup size.
As for clothes, avoid crew necks, polo necks, go for a v or scoop neck with a close fitting camisole underneath. Don't go for a crop style top, something a little longer will look more balanced.

You should wear low/V necklines to break up the bust area - if you feel too exposed layer them with a vest or camisole underneath. Make sure your bra fits properly; thats half the battle. High neck tops will make you look enormous and as if if your boobs are growing out of your chin.

Don't forget that your shape and overall appearance are determined by your whole outfit - wear plain tops with patterned skirts and wide-legged trousers to make your bottom half look bigger, this will make your shape look balanced and reduce the 'top-heavy' look. There are also lots of nice wide belts in shops at the moment to emphasise your waist - show off your curves!

You say you don't wear anything wit a low neckline - I also have a bit of a problem with this, and also being quite broad shouldered. I find lower neckline and scoop neck tops help. Although you may be showing off a little more than you might like I think you'll find it helps and also feels a bit more feminine than big cover-up tops.

A sports bra will flatten you down and give you more comfort when moving about.
