I have such problem with my possibly future college. I'm in the middle of the application process, but i've found that everytime i go there, the student aid people and all the faculities are soo rude, i dunno if its just to me, ( everytime i go there i think of how i talk to them and all that so i'm not being mean in any way) they just seem soo tired of being there and make me feel like an idiot everytime i ask for help.
I dunno, maybe i should just suck it up!
is there a major difference in the education between a university/college and a community college??

lol most universities/college contain a rude and incompetent finical aid staff. there are too many difference networks handing your money and credits that most of the time, the people you actually end up talking to you have no clue what is going on. you will find that once you go there- they will most likely mess up on your finical aid pretty much every semester! At least all the colleges/universities in MI anyway!

I think that the require more from you when you are at a university college. Because they may think you already been to a community college. Community colleges is where you start from (that is unless you are smart enough to just start at a university) it where you learn how to do things. Like you said just suck it up because they are paid to help you with any questions or concern you are having. Its not your fault they are having a bad day. So just take it easy that is free money and we qualify for it.

Every person goes through this at some point in the their life. Ultimately, if you want to know the true answer, tape yourself having a conversation. Ask someone who has made progress with these sort of people what they did to achieve their help.

I, myself, find that my husband always gets further than me because he uses the sweetest honey around while tend to be "let's just get to the facts". His tactic is to divert their attention with charm and then they just let everything come out.

as far as the classes - no difference. But with a community college, you can only go as far as an Associates Degree (2 years) and with a College/University it's a Bachelors or more (maters, phd, etc...) depending on how long you stay.

Actually community colleges, in my opinion, are smarter investments. There you can get all your core curriculum finished and then transfer to a university or bachelor's degree program and you would start as a Junior.

in my experience, it depends more on the size of the school. In smaller colleges (say, 5,000 FTE or less), you are more likely to be treated better, and more likely to be a person rather than one of a million in line.
