Okay, I just realized that I have my period today, I wasnt expecting it. In the middle of the day, I felt cramps and I got pretty gassy. Then after that, I felt light headed, and weak, like i was going to faint. And I feel a little naseous.
Girls, what should I do? What's causing me to feel this way? The same thing happened last month, I fainted in class. Mom went through all that trouble to leave work to pick me up in class. Then i was throwing up.
Do I need to go to a hospital? I don't feel very well, What should I do? What's causing this problem? I dont want to throw up again, and I'M IN CLASS RIGHT NOW!!!!!
Someone said something about birth control. I don't want leaks, cramps or fainting, Does birth control lightn your periods. I'm not pregnant.(I wish) Are there over-the-counter birth control pills? It there is, I'd be so happy.
What pill would you recommend?

No not at all! I am a nurse, and i have know kids as young as 12 to be on birth control.
cramping sucks, but you know the birth control will help it.
I was on DepoProvera it is an injection every 3 months, and i hardly ever got cramps and only had spotting, i didn't have a full period. it was really cool. but it is not right for everyone.

No you´re not young for birth control, in fact bc pills are better when they´re taken when young; as they increase your pressure they have many side effects sometimes if they are not well prescribed, side effects come more often on women with 35 years and smokers.
For the problem you have I think it is very accurate that you get a prescription for a bc pill, it will reduce your flow, cramping and bloating and some of the pms you´re experiencing.
Pills like Loestrin 24 make your period reduce less than 3 days. But you have to go to your odctor to get an accurate prescription for the best bc pill for you according to your family history.
Good luck! ;D

The symptoms you describe could be related to your period -- especially if you feel this way every month. However, you should see a doctor to rule out other problems.
As for your question about contraception, no you're not too young. 17 is just fine. Again, you will need to see a doctor. The pill can help with shortening periods, lightning cramps and bloating, but again, your other symptoms should be assessed by your doctor.
Oh, and no there are no OTC contraceptives...they're all by prescription only when dealing with hormones.

Well you are not to young for birth control because my doctor offered it to me at that age to clear up acne. About the symptoms, you should get some blood work done. It Could be cause by your period. Try taking a multi vitamin. When women have their periods they tend to loose a lot of vitamins and nutrients in the blood. Good luck hope you feel better.

No 17 is not too young. Go talk to Planned ParentHood.
Just because you may get lighter periods if you do use the pill, does NOT excuse your fainting. Get to a doctor kiddo... its really important.
Secondly, dont say "I wish" about being pregnant. You are still a kid, so let yourself be one. Its A LOT harder to rise a child at a young age. Trust me on this.

If I were you to talk your mother first and ask her if you want take the birth control. I were you to wait when you will be 18.
There is no birth control over the counter. Only place they have it at pharmacy.

go to your MD and ask him for the pills, you are not too young for them and they will help with a lot of the symptoms you have described, now.... as to I wish... you are far too young to be getting pregnant now, you need to finish school and be more mature before having children
