I see that the USC Trojans are the No. 1-ranked college football team in the preseason polls. Who would argue with them? You sort of have to give USC whatever they want for fear of retribution. Since the Raiders cleared out of Los Angeles faster than Mark Fuhrman left the Million Man march, the Trojans have been the resident pro football team.

Have you seen the movie Boyz N the Hood? Training Day? Menace To Society? All of these "uplifting" stories about inner city life were filmed a few hundred yards from the USC library. USC is located in South Central Los Angeles. Yikes! No wonder so many scholarships go to football players. They're the only ones who can properly defend themselves if they leave campus. All the neighborhoods near campus are divided between the Crips, Bloods and Trojans.

Fight On!!

USC isn't in South Central. I definitely say it's South Central adjacent. Plus, there are no Bloods and Crips. The immediate area around campus is mostly Latino. So maybe they're maras or something, who knows.

Whatever, I attended USC and never had any problems. Sure, people do get mugged, but it makes for really funny "Crime Alert Email." Yeah, they email the whole campus every time there is a crime. This last one was really funny; some guy came up to a student, wielding a gun, and demand the student's money. The student started to comply, but then realized the gun was toy and refused to hand ovefr his money. That is funny. You can't deny it.

But as for our football team, yeah, we're the best.

I think they are over rated...they have a fairly good team, but the PAC-10 is by no means a power house this year...remember last year when Ohio State was suppose to be the best team in the land and was blown out? It happens all the time, USC is a "Media Darling" Team...just like Notre Dame or Michigan...watch if Notre Dame wins four games, they will try to get them in a BCS Bowl...from what I have seen LSU is the best team in the nation and they have a heck of a lot tougher schedule than USC...if you go undefeated in the SEC, you have done something, just look how once beaten Florida put it on Ohio State...heck even my team Bama is showing signs of life...but if Bama sucked, I would say they sucked...USC will not win the National Championship...but with a weak schedule they might play for it...

Austin why do you ask this question every week? Do you need constant assurance? Are you beginning to have doubts like most non-USC fans? The answer will come after the championship game. If the Trojans win I will be here to say congratulations. Will you be here if they lose? And are you really bragging about USC being located in a cesspool of violence? You must be 12 like a lot of people have said about you.

If you look at the last 5 years of recruiting rankings the Trojans have been in the top 3 all the years and overall would have to be #1. Of course that is assuming you believe in the rankings. Then Carroll does a good job developing the talent.

USC is very good.

i think of LSU regarded exceptionally good final week. human beings do no longer provide adequate credit to Spurrier and the Gamecocks. They deserved that #12 score, so as that they hung in there and made the Tigers artwork for it. yet i think of USC could win this conflict. i do no longer think of any D will close down this deep of a team. That O Line will take care of Dorsey, and supply JDB each and every sort of time to %. aside that secondary.

To all the SC haters you can suck a big one. LSU and Florida are the only teams this year that can even be mentioned in the same sentence with USC and one of them will cancel the other out pretty soon. Oklahoma has been smashed by the Trojan horse before and they are ok but im still not convinced about them. USC's nose tackle is the best in the nation besides the one from LSU at this point and if USC can run the ball like they did against nebraska then its gonna be a long season for every team that has to play them.

How good is USC? 3rd place in the nation, right after LSU & Oklahoma

They are a very good college football team from what I hear. I watched them against Nebraska and they are solid. Do I think they should be #1. Nope. Florida should. Florida won it all last year and have not lost since. The trounced Tennessee and Urban Meyer has mastered the spread offense. Having said all of that, LSU has looked more impressive to many than any team. Of course I am somewhat biased but come on, 137-7 in 3 games, that speaks for itself.

So what? They're still the University for Spoiled Children. So, a few inspiring movies happened near the campus . BIG WHOOP! You Trojan fan need to stop being so smug about your success and let everyone get on with their lives!

Right now they are pretty good. Definitely a top ten team. But LSU, OU and a couple others look just as good at this point.
