I've tryed lots of programs, but would like to do it this way,

You will die of BOREDOM and it will just not happen. The only way to go back to factory settings is by using the recovery CD. When you shutoff your laptop, even if you remove the batteries, only the content of RAM is erased. The content of the hard drive remains intact.

you uh... can't. it's on the hard disk drive. All your settings are saved to the hard drive, not the memory. It ain't 1984 anymore. The *best* way to take it back to "factory settings" is to put in the original install disc and reinstall windows. Granted, you will lose everything on it - settings, documents - *E V E R Y T H I N G* - but that's what you want, right?

you can't

Best way

go into your C: drive hightlight all the files and delete them

then uninstall your programs then your OS

Restart PC

then install everything back on
