I wont ask for a specific question cause many of u r going to tell me that its a matter of choice, however, on ur opinion which processor works better on windows based system and at wich point are they independent of any other specifications:

Intel Core 2 Duo T7100 @1.8 GHz
or

Core2 Duo T7100 is better. It ranks #20 in chart below that is based on benchmarks. Turion X2 TL-52 ranks #42:

So it is not really an opinion but a fact.

I would recommend the AMD processor. I have always used AMD processors and they have held up great. AMD also released the first publicly available 64-bit processor, and thus has more refined research into 64-bit processoring than Intel.

As for ATI and NVidia: ATI cards operate better with Direct3D and NVidia cards run better with OpenGL. Both cards can support both modes, but they will run better if you use the preferred mode. Also, NVidia cards generally have faster memory but a slower GPU, while ATI cards have slower memory but a faster GPU. I personally prefer NVidia cards, but I don't think it makes too much of a difference between which one you choose.

Unfortunately, Windows Vista offers pitiful OpenGL support, in favor of its proprietary Microsoft-developed Direct3D. If you have Vista, an ATI card would be a wiser choice since it speciallizes in Direct3D.

I prefer Intel Core 2 Duo. Less heat and use less electricity because of their process architecture. And for laptop, i think with intel processor, battery lifetime are longer.

ATI vs Nvidia main different is they are two different company major in graphics chip production. Some games or software are preferring on each cards. But more and more they are preferring Nvidia. At this moment, Nvidia make good graphics chip.

1.)Intel has more support from Microsoft, whereas AMD doesn't. For best comparisons, buy Maximum PC.
2.)Are you talking about onboard or actual video cards?Support for Shader 3.0, DirectX 9 or 10 (for Vista), RAMDAC, 3 of transistors, games made to utilize the cards features.

Intel works better than AMD not necessarily on windows. In general, Intel is better than AMD even if they are a bit more expensive. I would recommend the Intel processor between those two.
