Do you mean convince your boss that your opinion is worth looking at? If you need to convince your opinion of anything then you must not believe in very much either. ; ) Well um lets see....he is the boss and you work for him his way right or wrong IS the only opinion that really matters. The idea of an opinion is it is your view. Since you are allowed to have one then so is everyone else in this world right or wrong ideas , it doesn't matter.
What you do is invite him to look at things through your eyes. Forcing him to do so will never work. At the same time you have to be willing to see things out his window as well. This is accomplished by you asking him for his concerns for why he prefers it done in the present manner. You both may be looking at the same house but one with a view from the back and the other with a view from the front. Even looking at the same thing will give dramtically different views. Accept the idea that both views can co-exist. There is no one perfect opinion of any problem.
When you discuss with your views include how they will still cover HIS concerns. This will create a bridge for him to not feel attacked, hold on to his opinion while exploring a new idea. The way to convince a boss about anything is that it contains 3 essential business elements:
1. Your opinion saves the company money short term and longterm.
2. Your opinion saves time (is simpler to do and safe)
3. Your opinion increases public demand for your product or services.

I'm not sure you need to convince anyone of your own opinion but yourself. However, if you are trying to get your boss to see something from your point of view, you could try being assertive and letting him know how the matter affects you without placing blame.
If you are trying to get your boss to change something, I think the best way to get someone to do something you want them to do is to make them think it was their idea to change things in the first place! Plant the seed, and just water it until it flourishes into something more workable for you, and hopefully those around you... Just don't be TOO heavy handed with this method of persuasion, people still need to be able to make their own choices in these types of situations. Your boss may have his or her own reasons as to why things are the way they are. =)

I guess by being determined, being in the mind set, knowing essentially what you need to express, biting the bullet and doing it. Don't take to much time thinking about it. Too much thinking may blurr the outcome.

Only by first accepting his opinion and then give your opinion. You should tell him, you are 100% correct, but my opinion is like this--------.
