lol Armageddon didnt have space cowboys like those in Deep Impact who FAILED TO DESTROY THE COMET-so they r the space cowboys....Armageddon's crew cud have easily done it...and Bearclaw Armageddon was less realestic than Deep Impact? go put ur head in cold water and turn it the other way around...Deep Impact was a movie which had action and heroic craap..Armageddon had better Action, Drama, Directing, and Performence...i rather say that the scene wen the Comet hit the American coast was nothing compared to that scene where the small rock destroyed parts of Europe...compare that...LOOSER

Armageddon definitely edges out deep impact, through story line, performance, writing and directing. Deep impact is one of those movies that is too busy being impressed with itself to bother being a good movie. They want all those dramatic sweeping shots of devastation, and in the process forgot that they were supposed to make a good movie.

Both films were pretty poor but Armageddon would win this hands down. It perhaps knows its cheesy and doesn't try to lay on the dramatic tone as thick as Deep Impact.

Just the whole way that Ben Affleck is able to start his own drilling company in less than a couple of days is great.

Add to that the film goes for the more action angle and makes it easier to watch. Deep Impact has a few scenes but again takes itself too serious. I found the subplots with Tea Leoni and Leelee Sobieski just far frustrating and distracting. They act so over the top about their situations and you just don't care.

At least in Armageddon it kept it light in that area. Sure the Bruce Willis, Liv Tyler and Ben Affleck trio was annoying and the way Affleck goes all blubbery for Willis. Ohhhh No!!!!

But the biggest difference, Armageddon had Steve Buscemi. I don't think I can ever go against a film with Buscemi.

I liked Deep Impact better because it was a lot more realistic, showing the mass exodus away from the coast, esp. toward the "high ground in West Virginia" - our eastern Appalachian ranges are the highest in the immediate region, with places like Dolly Sods, Sandstone Mountain, Canaan Valley, Winterplace, and Seneca Rocks. It showed that not every hero lives, and that some would rather die in a last brave stand at home - even if that home was right on the coast or in a nuclear blast deep in space. I personally thought Armageddon's "space cowboys" could have easily been replaced with the Justice League with all the insane and against all odds heroics they pulled - like the "buggy leap" on the asteroid. The terrain was sharp and spearlike, and I really thought the likelihood of having a passable "road" on the rock was next to nil.

Deep Impact, why did they need Ham (Steve Buschemi) in Armageddon? All he did was to shoot the lunar buggy's. Fifth Element was good too. Bruce Dubya is a common factor between Armageddon and Fifth Element.

Armageddon! It was way better!!!!

I hated the plot for Deep Impact - Only those they deemed worthy were allowed to live. What's up with that bull?!?!?!?!?

Armageddon.

It had the right mix of humour and seriousness, and was well cast.

And any film that casts Jason Isaacs as 'one of the smartest people in the world' deserves recognition!

Armageddon for confident. that is have been given humor, action and bits the place you in basic terms would desire to cry! Plus the music for that action picture is i do no longer choose to omit a factor via Aerosmith that is one in all my all time general songs.

Armageddon is the lesser of the two evils.

I thought they were both awful. But Deep Impact had Elijah Wood in and he is cute, so I'll go for that.
