3x + 18 / 5x + 30

Factor out both the numerator and the denominator:

3 (x + 6) / 5 (x + 6)

Cancel out x + 6.

The answer is :
3/5

Factoring out 3 from the numerator and 5 from the denominator the equation simplifies to 3(x + 6)/5(x + 6). x + 6 cancels out so the equation simplifies to 3/5. I erred in my first attempt at this problem but the other answerers led me on the correct path. Thanks for the 2 points!

No your answer isn't right, the question simplifies to x+6/x+6, those two cancel out and you are just left with 1.

The answer is 1
