Of course we should, that goes without saying. Future generations have always looked to the past generations for guidance and to learn from their struggles and innovations to continue to make improvements and advance in civilization.

Unfortunately we are now thinking about future generations after we have done alot of damage to our world. If you want your children and grandchildren and future generations to enjoy a world that is thriving instead of a world in decay then you must take care not to do any further damage. Most of the damage has been done for $$$. Some people could care less what the earth will be like 50 years from now, but you have to think ahead.

Of course we should. Anyone who has children, plans to have children or knows people with children (i.e. everyone) should care because if we continue as we are, we will make life difficult and unpleasant for our offspring. It's extremely selfish to value your own personal gain over that of your children.
