This is a question about which substances are monomers and which are polymers. Monomers are single building blocks that can be used by an organism to build bigger molecules as needed. It's like taking apart a fallen chimney to build a brick sidewalk.

The monomers or building blocks in this list are glucose (a monosaccharide), amino acids, and fatty acids. The polymers or larger molecules in this list are starch, protein, and lipids.

Glucose is the digested form of starch. Amino acids is the digested form of proteins. Fatty acids, together with glycerol, are the digested forms of lipids.

In short, starch, proteins and lipids have to be digested.
