As we become more technologically advanced, we produce materials that can withstand extreme temperatures, are durable and easy to use. Plastic bags, synthetics, plastic bottles, tin cans, and computer hardware- these are some of the things that make life easy for us.

But what we forget is that these advanced products do not break down naturally. When we dispose them in a garbage pile, the air, moisture, climate, or soil cannot break them down naturally to be dissolved with the surrounding land. They are not biodegradable. However natural waste and products made from nature break down easily when they are disposed as waste.

Rubbish can be potentially harmful for humans and the environment. The toxicity levels can go up and air and water contaminants can increase pollution in the atmosphere.

One of the most common household waste is polythene- mostly used as polythese bags for shopping and carrying light things. Since they are cheap, they are used by almost everyone- from the local vegetable seller to the supermarket bread shelf.

The hazard that polythene causes to the environment is very serious. On the other hand, biodegradable waste also has some effect on the environment. As biodegradable materials pile up, there is increased threat to the environment.

What Does Non Biodegradable Mean

Non-biodegradable waste is a type of waste that can't be broken down into its base compounds by micro-organisms, air, moisture or soil in a reasonable period of time. Non-biodegradable waste is an environmental concern, as it threatens to overwhelm landfills and produce disposal problems. Unlike biodegradable waste, such as food and other organic waste, non-biodegradable waste remains stable indefinitely. It offers items like rubber tires, Styrofoam, plastic, fiberglass and metals. Because non-biodegradable waste may not be broken down, recycling is the best selection for managing it.

Non-biodegradable waste are things that decomposer microbes cannot break down, they will stay for a long long time and will only be broken down by a chemical process which is naturally slow.

Disadvatages:
They pollute land
They stick around for a long time and take up space
Animals which accidentally eat them might die
Chemically decomposing ones sometimes release poisonous gases like hydrogen chloride

Advantages:
There's a possibility they can be reused
Doesn't produce carbon dioxide by rotting because it cannot rot

Environmental concerns:
soil pollution leaves many places infertile, reducing global crop yield
if too many animals die from chiking on it, food chains may be disrupted
more toxic gases produced

some thing that is biodegradable is a few thing which will at last decompose back into the earth. as an occasion, paper is --- and plastic isn't. It does not ultimately smash down till some millenia after.
