They should be punished, but not charged with attempted murder or sitting up in jail for 7 months for this. Why is nobody saying anything about the WHITE PUNKS who pulled a gun out on these guys the night before, or the fact that they beat up a black guy at a party also they hung nooses from the WHITE tree. Why aren't they in trouble, bc they're WHITE.

Why is everybody against Jena6 and feel these black kids should be prosecuted to the fullest extinct of the law? Why is nobody elaborating on the fact that the WHITE kids started this first? Why are they not punished. Please tell me this.
I'm so sick of ignorant, ppl who have nothing else better to do but to bash these young boys for a damn school fight. S**T happens, GET OVER IT!!!!!!.

When the WHITE PUNKS who beat up the black kid the night before get punished, and the WHITE PUNK who pulled out the gun on the black kids get punished, I DON'T wanna HEAR S***T

That's all Al Sharpton does and I wish he would just go away already. The Jena 6 thing is the first legitimate cause he's championed publicly in a long time and him being there just cheapens it.

SVictor, THANK YOU! I blame the media for the overall ignorance displayed by these people because they aren't reporting the whole story.

Wooly, Rutgers, don't you mean Duke Lacrosse? ::shakes head:: I would have given you a thumbs up otherwise. But I can't thumbs up things that aren't fact. SORRY!

Al Sharpton is doing it for the money. And because he can play the race card, it will have the edge. I'm not at all saying that's right, but it seems Al Sharpton will always handle a case that involves someone black being mistreated.

Have you guys seem him defend any other racial minority groups? Has he defended anybody white? If you have please educate me! Civil rights goes for EVERY racial group.

They call him a reverend, who appointed him as such? He is a self appointed reverend who only plays a part in adding fuel to America's fire.

A 16 year old boy with a criminal record is the poor persecuted face of the Jena 6-
Perfect for Al- the last person he was busy rallying behind was a lying prostitute who screamed rape falsely at a bunch of Duke La cross players.

I'd say that the folks in Jena have a far better idea what needs to be done to keep their community crime free than a bunch of strangers.

Maybe those boys are being made an example of so that Jena doesn't turn into thugville. Not every community in America thinks it's okay to beat people when they do something you don't like. It's called civilization. I know some people have a problem with the idea.

Yea, good ol buddy Al-
Defend someone who ganged up with his loser friends and attempted to beat someone to death- That's justice

ADD: Poor Mychal Bell- it'll be harder for him to push dope and steal now that he's famous.

I said this yesterday in another question: Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson & Louis Farakhan are only interested in perpetuating racisim and an attitude of entitlement within the black community. If they truly wanted to improve race relations they would end up putting themselves out of a career. If you ask me it's them that are racist and prejudiced 100 times more than the white community.

Oh, yeah. He needs to go in a hole and disappear. Him and Jesse both are doing blacks wrong. Instead of trying to teach them how to be strong and stand up for what is right, they are teaching them to cry racist every time something goes wrong in their lives. IF there is a backsliding of the civil rights movement, then they are the cause.

And he has really ticked me off now. Talking about the South like it's a bad place to be and how this goes on all the time.

svictor: So what are you saying? That it's okay for them to pick some random white boy to beat up. In everything I've heard and read, this boy's name has not been brought up in any of the instances. None. All he done was laugh because one of the black boys got beat up. Oooohhhh, bad. What kind of cowards do something like that to somebody who has done nothing to them? And the reason they are so harsh on this black boy is because of his PREVIOUS CRIMINAL RECORD, as in he has broken the law before. Most of the time, the more you break the law, the more brutal the justice system is to you.

He can defend the double standard in the legal system all he wants. There is some truth to that.

But on that note you can not just give these kids a free ride for what they have done. To not acknowledge they have committed a crime just fans the fire of the divide. He needs to apologize to the innocent victim and state what these kids did was wrong and illegal and use that as the measuring tool of the problem he has with the judicial system. Heck I am still waiting for an apology to the Duke lacrosse players from he and Jackson.

And he is supposed to be a man of God.......hardly.

H*ll yes he is. Oh by the way, did you know he never apologized too the Rutgers rugby boys? Gee, they were white as I recall. He keeps racism in the news, CNN and all of them eat out of his hand and kiss his @zz because they don't want to report something important like the war in Iraq.
