Carbs are found in many types of foods and are what our bodies need to convert to sugar (not the white refined kind we normally think of, but the natural body-producing kind). In turn, those sugars are converted to the energy our bodies need to function properly. Carbs are an important part of our daily diet and should not be eliminated or severly restricted. Sweets, starchy snacks, breads, pastas, and rice are carbs, but so are cereals, fruit, milk, yogurt, dried beans (legumes), and starchy veggies (corn, potatoes, green peas). Whole grain products contain important vitamins and nutrients and are an essential part of the diet of a person who is trying to eat healthy. What are you losing hope over? There is no magic number on the scale that you can reach and suddenly you are a happy, better person. A scale is a man-made tool and the numbers on it shouldn't be looked at as an absolute way to give value to you as a person. A person's weight can fluctuate from day to day, even morning to night. A woman will also have weight fluctuations during different times of the month. Even something so simple as weighing yourself on different scales that have been calibrated differently can give you a false sense that you are a failure. You may benefit from a physical with your doctor. Talk with him/her about your desire to lose weight. Your body may be very happy at the weight you are at and will fight you if you try to take more weight off. Why is it so important? I think you would benefit greatly from a registered dietitian. Does your gym offer the services of a trainer? Perhaps it would be helpful as well to speak to him/her about different work out routines. Our bodies can get in a rut and they like variety, not only in our diet but also in our exercise program.

Number one, you are not over weight! I know because I am only an inch or so taller than you, and my weight (before pregnancy) fluctuated between 105 and 115 depending on what I ate and how/if I exercised. I would suggest you see your family doctor to find out exactly what an appropriate weight is for you. If you are simply looking to make one area of your body appear smaller, consult a trainer at the gym for some good exercises for that particular region.
Secondly, when you first begin the weight loss process you usually lose a significant amount right in the beginning, and then things begin to slow to normal. This is why so many people give up. Just stick with it. If you're patient you will see the results you want in time.

This is such a joke. If your bf wants a new civic then tell him to buy it himself. The fact the the father bought him a car in the first place was generous. Most kids are not so lucky. And rather than being a spoiled brat you should just be happy he's your bf. Unless your idea of bf is one having a car. What his father does with his money is his business. Just be thankful your bf gets a some share. And by the way, if your bf is driving then he's old enough to show responsibility and get a job and buy his own car. And what's this got to do with you anyway.

You're not really overweight, so your body's trying to send you the message that it's healthy where it is. When you are dieting, your body thinks its being starved for whatever reason, which is why you gain weight. Second, a no carb/low carb diet is not healthy. Your body needs carbs to help you digest your food. Eating a well balanced diet will be healthier in the long run than losing ten pounds now.

I know it sounds funny, but you may not be eating enough. Especially if your workouts are vigorous. Therefore, your body is holding onto whatever fat it can so it doesn't feel starved. 114 is a healthy weight for your height. I know it's hard not to, but it sounds like it's time to stop obsessing over the scale and go by how you feel and how well your clothes fit.

First of all at 114 you are not over weight!! So the weight is not going to come of easily!! Since you are exercising you maybe gaining muscle...which weighs more than fat...therefore you may not weigh less, but your inches will go down!! Try measuring yourself and see how that goes!

it is normal for your weight to go up and down, dont worry about it so much. Please, 114 pounds for 5feet tall, your right in the middle or normal weight, u dont even need to loose weight. Just keep exercising regularely and eat heathly and dont look at the number on the scale. what happens is your are losing fat weight, but gaining muscle weight and muscle weights ALOT more than fat, therefor the number on the scale is "kind of" wrong. see what i mean?

You mention eating carbs once a week but then discuss veggies and fruit, these have carbs too so you may be eating more of those than you think. But, at 114 you shouldn't worry about it.

I would imagine it's water weight. Salt in processed foods will do that and you get bloated from the fiber in fruits and veggies. I know it's important to you to be at a certain weight but stick to your diet and weigh yourself in a month. Give your body time.
