You are so wrong. Elvis was a great, great singer who dyed his hair and towards the end of his life ate too much. You don't seem to realise that without Elvis, you would not have any of today's pop music. Elvis was the individual who made it acceptable for middle class white Americans (and subsequently Europeans) to like black music. Before him, rock'n'roll was branded 'n 1gger music' and was basically regarded as something that decent white folk should avoid at all costs.

You have to remember that Elvis was and still is popular because he paved the way for modern rock n roll. There weren't too many singers back then that were that "out there". The way Elvis danced was concerned rsique' where as now and days, he would be mild.

Did you fail any other subjects besides history?

I'm not a huge Elvis fan, but before he was an OK singer he had sex appeal that, back in the 50's, had to be censored in order for him to be seen on TV. He had moves that combined Karate kicks (he was a black belt and could probably kick your pale @$$!) and swiveling hips. He had charisma. He helped bring black music into the mainstream and I guess you could say if it wasn't for Elvis, rap wouldn't be mainstream today.

He ate too much. He drank too much. He did too many drugs. He indulged in excesses. He was a troubled soul. So were Kurt Cobain, Michael Hutchence, Janis Joplin, Freddie Mercury, Jim Morrison, Sid Vicious, and on and on. We all have our own skeletons in our closet.

He dyed his hair. Oh no! What kind of world do we live in?!

Elvis is the only thing about the 50s that sticks -- apart from gas-guzzling cars and he rise of McDonald's. So who can blame him if he did what he did?

Elvis was a superb singer who was all too human. He never had the bad taste to speak ill of the dead.

Oh shut up, you obviously don't know what the hell you are saying.

You are free today, because of Elvis' greatness. Before Elvis, there was no music, there was no life, there was nothing. Whether you admit it or not, all musicians are disciples of Elvis. Elvis is the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning, and the ending, no one before him, and no one after him.

Go grab a book instead of babbling.

Well, by that statement we can also include 90% of all performers, singers and actors - so where does that leave you then?

Kurt Cobain was a mediocre singer who ventilated his head.

Your point?
