You give Mr. Trump's $100 back to him. It belongs to him. You have a job description at your hotel and I'm sure that if you look at it, you will find you do not take it upon yourself to decide what is considered a tip. The moral thing to do is make sure your guest has all his belongings, including a $100.00 bill that fell from his suitcase or pocket.

And confident, I even have had people thieve lots greater funds from me than that on purpose, so i might p.c.. it up with a sparkling judgment of right and incorrect figuring that if I wasn't meant to locate it, it does not be there! ? ?

You give it back. It's his property. A tip is something the customer gives you, not something you take if it falls out unnoticed.

If it was a pair of socks, or a paperback book, would you consider that a tip? How about a valuable piece of jewelry? All of these are clearly his. Why should you consider cash differently?

Ethically, You give back the money.

It doesn't matter that $100 to him is like a $1 to us, and it doesn't matter who he is.

Law of the streets says keep it but I don't know what th actual "Law" on the issue is. I doubt that you spend jail time for finding some money.

Give it back, would it be worth throwing trust/credibility out of the window for a $100 bill? NO, a thief is a thief regardless.

I would give it back, because there is the chance that it might impress him and he'd give me a $500 "lost and found" tip for my consideration.

Give it back to him. He'd probably let you keep it anyway. If I kept it, it would feel like stealing and I wouldn't enjoy spending the $.
