I've had a water infection for a few days, I don't get them very often but I've been drinking lots of water & cranberry juice, not having sex etc but today I've had lots of pain in my lower back, almost like a stabbing pain.
I had the same thing about a year ago when I had a water infection but that only lasted a day, when I went to bed I was in a lot of pain but was fine the next morning. What could this be and is it anything to worry about?

I would say your UTI has gone from your bladder to your kidneys.
Make an appointment with the Doctor as you will need anti-biotics as the preventative treatments are not working anymore as it has gone too far.
In the mean time, waiting for the appointment, keep up the juice and water but also get some Ural from the Chemist. Drink this 4 times a day while fizzing. After using the toilet. Drink another glass of water.
You poor girl. It hurts when it get's to the kidneys.

I am not a girlie but in my profession I attend a LOT of URINARY TRACT INFECTION people and although some DO have this type of symptom it is certainly not classic.
Where in the lower back is it?, Could it be muscular?, Could it be prolapsed disc? I guess it could be a number of things. How do you know you have a water infection.? Have you seen a GP or practice nurse etc.? If you are worried about a "water Infection" get your urine tested at your local GP

Sounds like you've got a UTI. (Urinary Tract Infection).You need antibiotics or an anti-bacterial drug. Make an appointment to see your doctor this very minute so that medication can be started straight away. Don't forget to take a urine sample with you!

you need anti-biotics to get rid of a water infection hunny,and you need to see your GP,as if you leave it,it can turn into a full blown kidney infection,and i am just recovering from one of those,so i know how much the back pain truly hurts. am not trying to worry you hunny,but please go see you GP as soon as you can. you can end up in hospital with a kidney infection,because i was taken in twice. hope things work out ok for you hunny. take good care xxx

Bladder infection, ive just had one too and i got some antibiotics from doctors and now feeling much better!!
