Not the brightest crayon in the box, are we??? Grand Canyon is just that, a CANYON (aka big freaking hole 277 miles long and about 20 miles wide with a river at the bottom). There hasn't been any volcanic activity in that area for thousands of years, and non of it was extinction big. Just some cinder cones and such. They are all extinct now. You are thinking of Yellowstone.
Oh, and a side note, yes there was volcanic activity in Northeren AZ (where Grand Canyon is). How do you think the San Fransisco Peaks got there???

We might become extinct from that, but if not we would be very bust trying to figure out all the brand new physics of exactly how a canyon erupted. Of that happens, we need to start being worried that the Mississippi and other rivers might start erupting, too.

Erupt? The Grand Canyon?? There's nothing there to erupt; it's just a gash in the earth caused by centuries of erosion by the Colorado River.

You are thinking of Super Volcano in Yellow Stone Park, Wyoming, if that were to erupt it would change civilization. It would propably fill the Grand Canyon with ash and rocks if the wind were to be in that direction. The Grand Canyon would have to be on a hot spot to erupt and form a volcano .

The Grand Canyon is not a volcano - it's a hole

Canyons don't erupt. It's not a friggin' volcano, it's just a big eroded river bank.
Jeez!
