My husband just bought a 1986 honda xr200r dirtbike shell with all parts not installed. I am trying to find a site on the internet that gives directions on how to install the parts in it. All I have been able to find on the internet so far are manuals that must be purchased. Does anyone know a sight that gives out free directions online?

First off you can't do it if you have to put the engine together. You don't have the tools or the experience and I know this because you don't have the manual which is the first thing you need to buy. Take it to a shop.

As for a manual I recommend just buying one. after going to honda a few times and buying $3 screws a manual will seem cheap.

You will also need gear. The minimum gear should be a helmet, gloves and boots.

I would check the local library, they may have a shop manual for that motorcycle you can borrow. What parts need to be installed ? if the engine is together it shouldn't be that hard to put together. look at a similar year XR200 and see how things connect. It is just a dirtbike, so they are fairly simple.

If you have access to a university library they will most likely have a manual. They might not let you check it out. But you can make a copy of the pages that you need.

That's how I got the info to overhaul my Honda in the early 80's

Good luck

Absolutely no site, will show you how to assemble a bike from a box of parts.
Some will give you an idea.
You need torque specs, cam timing procedures, order to assemble the parts, etc.
Even professional expert mechanics wouldn't touch that job without a shop manual.
Shoot the lock off your wallet and spend the $30.

Unless you can get the manual for free, you'll have to buy it. Try ebay.
