Isn't it about time African Americans are given reperations for slavery? No other group of people have been enslaved in a whole industry of slavery for so long, and a form of economic slavery exists to this day...
With the trillions of dollars being wasted in Iraq- just take sonme of that- it would be enough to give $1,000,000 to every African American.
If the government won't pay for it, then all whites should have a small 'black tax' taken out of their paychecks, and that money given over to African Americans.
White people owe the black man-we have held him down, kept him imprisoned in the inner cities, and put liquor stores and drugs in the cities to make sure the African American stays down.I'm white, but would favor a tax be put on my paycheck, and that money going to a pool to be distributed to all African americans.
Isn't it high time we give reperations to all African Americans?

The fact that police target African Americans, and the fact there is a higher percentage of African Americans in prison than whites all point to the reality that the American governement has policies in place to keep the black man oppressed. Take a poor inner city African american, and a rich white collar white guy- have them do the same crime- gurenteed the white guy will walk, the African American will do hard time. Most African Americans in prison are essentially political prisoners-any crimes they commited occoured because white people held them down and drove them to desperation, and limited their opportunities in life.

Yes, every person who was held as a slave should be given reparations. And descendant of a slave who wants to return to Africa should be provided with a one way plane ticket.
This would make things right.

Tell you what , Show me one Black American that was alive in the days of Slavery and is still alive and well and A White person also and I will agree that that white person owes that Black person something....
At the same time I think that since the only race that is feeling the affects of the abuse their ancestors went through are the Native Americans so if you start handing our reparations start there .
I was not alive during slavery so I owe them nothing,
As for a museum why they already have a whole month dedicated to Black History, Why not instead having American History month......No racism there......

Why should I, a white man who has never owned slaves in my life, be ordered to give money to a black man, who has never been a slave in his life?
This whole "reparations" crap destroys the whole idea, which is right, that the American Civil War was about stopping slavery. My country paid an incredible price for slavery (more than most, if not the most), and one we're still feeling to this day. To say that somehow the American Civil War was about States Rights, gives way to those who believe that reparations are necessary, since if the Civil War wasn't about slavery, then perhaps it's time that we pay the price for slavery.
For slavery, the check came due in April of 1861. Over 600,000 dead, brother killing brother, neighbor killing neighbor. Over 4 years of war, half of the country in ruins (to which still hard feelings are abound), which were later deemed military districts, and subjected to political persuasion from the North, and our greatest president assassinated. I don't really need to hear about how we need to pay for slavery with modern day reparations when we've already paid such a terrible price, and rightfully so, thank you very much.
We paid our price. But we weren't the only country to have slavery. For the sake of argument, what price has your country paid?

You can't be serious. This is just a stupid idea, and I can't believe a white person would actually suggest this.
No person alive today in America was responsible for slavery, and no one alive today in America was ever a slave.
So why should I pay? I didn't have anything to do with it.
I agree that it was an ugly part of our country's past, but we must move forward.
And by the way.....there is slavery still going on in other parts of the world where it's been happening for lots longer than what happened to black people. Don't believe me? Do some research and find out for yourself.
It's sad, but true.

I think the whole thing you just said was retarded, whats the point of helping those that wont even help themselves. Most of them live on welfare, choose to drink, and choose to do drugs. Why do you act like they dont have liquor stores and drugs where white people live? I think you're just a lazy monkey that doesn't want to work and wants free stuff like all the other monkeys in this country. Also, i don't think you experienced life as a slave so why should you get any reparations? What about the Jews, they were treated worse than the blacks, so I believe you should get over it, get over yourself, and go find a job you freeloader. Oh, and don't do drugs and drink and drive, you know cause white people FORCE you to do that.

I accept as true with what merely approximately each little thing all and sundry stated and you to boot. yet i do no longer agree that Affirmative action is a style of "opposite racism", yet I do agree that united statesa. did pass incorrect because of the fact remember White women human beings income from it greater so it has a smaller influence on blacks. Affirmative action hasn't particularly helped out a good number of blacks (who're a minority), it seems to be assisting out maximum folk. i'm of African slave good. My mom decedent of united statesAmerican slaves, and pa from Jamaican slavery good. i don't be attentive to the way many different countries gave the persons they held captive as slaves, or handbook human beings reparations however the U.S. did no longer, apart from with eastern. it particularly is merely too late to grant a suitable reparation so some distance as funds is going, yet giving a reparation of a few type might actual help the poverty bothered aspects that some blacks stay in, and have been born into. i'm no longer asserting provide me funds yet a straightforward community, to stay, and learn in. to boot as a place the place racial profiling isn't working rampant As so some distance as we would have are available united statesa. many each physique remains waiting for a leveled enjoying field.

HA HA you cant be serious.
You were never a slave, I never owned slaves. I owe you nothing.
If the white man has held the black man down for so long that they cant possibly get on their feet then why are there black people who are doctors, lawyers, accountants, etc...
Women have been slaves longer than black men all over the world and are still considered property in some parts of the world... ALL men must pay me a portion of their salary because they are holding me down
Give me a break. Stop blaming others because you are too lazy to get off your butt and go to school and get a decent job.

You're kidding, right?! You want all white people, many of whom didn't even have ancestors in the Americas at the time, to pay black people, none of whom have been enslaved.....for what?
I've done the research and I know for a fact that some of my ancestors on my father's side owned slaves. I'm appauled at that fact! But I also know for a fact that when my great-great-grandfather died, he left each of his slaves money and land to use to start a new life for them and their families. I'd say my family has already paid your "black tax"!

reparations is a silly idea. I use to hear some people talk about its time they get paid. But what would be the point? they were not slaves themselves, that was hundreds of years ago. All thats needed is respect, and respect in the terms as blacks recieving respect and blacks respecting themselves to better themselves

I say how about a museum? That way no one can whine about it because their tax dollars went to the Holocaust Museum which is a form of reparations for the Jews
