Go to your doctor. I had the same thing at 24 weeks pregnant and the doctor gave me a pregnancy safe medication for it. Don't use any over the counter medicines.
Its normally itchy, and it comes with a whitish discharge.
Get to your doctor now though. If you do have one it can cause preterm labor. The doctor will do a pelvic exam to check and see. Be safe, call your doc and get an appointment now.
Congratulations by the way mommy!

I also had never had one before I got pregnant. I am 31 weeks now and I am treating my first with over the counter Montistat 7. I didn't even know I had one. I went to see my midwife because my discharge got real thick and dark yellow/brownish. She took a look and she tested it and it was a yeast infection. But, my friend who unfortunately has reoccurring yeast infections says that it gets real itchy and sometimes a little foul smelly. I never had any itch with mine thank god. My midwife said that that was because some of the worst yeast infections have the most discharge and less itch. I would go see your OB about it before you start to treat yourself because it could be a bacterial infection which is common in pregnancy and they are hard to tell apart.
Good luck!
P.S. Make sure that if you and your partner have sex anytime soon to wear a condom! It will help you not get infections since you are more pron to them while you are pregant.

like others have said, they are itchy!! I had one when I was about 20 weeks pregnant and my midwife prescribed me a pill that I took by mouth that got rid of the infection in 2 days.
I originally got the infection because I was on antibiotics!
good luck

its a very uncomfortable feeling! i had never got one before i was pregnant. itch, burn, clumpy discharge. Honestly, make an appointment and get some medication. Infections can lead to pre-term labor :/
I took to long to get mine treated and I was in the ER yesterday for 8 hours because I was bleeding due to an inflammed cervix. Go get checked you have nothing to lose, I'd rather be on the safe side. Also, they say plain yogurt helps. :) Good Luck!

The discharge is nothing like you've ever had before, I'm sure. Just do a good check and see what is coming out. The itch can start a couple days before the white cottage cheese (very good discription of what it looks like) comes. Call your doctor, either make an appointment to have them make sure, or to phone in an rx. Good luck!

You may get a thicker discharge too, not always yellow could be more creamier in colour, your underneath gets red and sometimes bleeds slight from the itching.
