Why does Sharpton get so much airtime?

I think it's the Barry White hairdo and the ability to talk fast. The black community would be much better served by the likes of Walter Williams, Ward Connelly, Clarence Thomas, Condi Rice and Alan Keyes, to name a few. They could stand to get rid of Jesse Jackson too.

He is loud and plays the race card to every advantage possible. He represents only himself but uses his own people as pawns to further his own agenda. That's why you don't see him around when blacks get caught breaking the law, but you will see him in the occasional instance when crime against blacks occurs.

He's basically the most well-known fake around and the majority of the black community are wise to this and disregard him. Only those who are really racist find him useful for all he does is exacerbate the racial divide.

because there IS so much airtime. all those news channels with no real news. it is the same reason every rainstorm gets treated like the deluge at the end of the world.

If he didn't get the airtime he does,how would Americans know what a racist he was. I consider his appearances good comedy,but not much more.

He's usually taking on issues that most politicians are too afraid to take on and that always attacts people and makes news. For example... look at you and all the people who responded to your question,you are a part of the mania. :-)
