I just bought it used yesterday and the low coolant light came on. When we got home we noticed it was leaking from underneath.

First of all, if you bought the car from a private party, it would be assumed to be AS IS so the answer above me would not be applicable.

You can get a new radiator for $158.73 plus tax shipped to your door at http://www.radiatorbarn.com/s7.asp?ac=Y&year=1998&make=OLDSMOBILE&model=INTRIGUE&submodel=ALL+MODELS&engine_size=V6%2C3.8L%2C231ci

Labor to replace it shouel be about $100.

Always have a car checked out by your own mechanic prior to purchase! If you had, you would have avoided this problem

in case you replace the rad your self you motor vehicle get the rad at advance for greater or less $one hundred seventy five,00 new and that i could exchange the thermostat $15,00 and turn it out and be completed with it , and in case you get a save to do it for you it is going to value you approximately $4 hundred.00 to $500.00 dollars

why don't you talk to the person you bought it from and negotiate a deal (like you pay for 1/2 of the cost of a radiator)
Or ask for your money back........he must of made some claim on how great the car WAS....

Well if you call around to salvage yards

( which will be the cheapest route)

You should be able to get it for 50-100.00

And it is simple to swap out, basic tools are all you need.
