For information regarding Christmas decorations and how to do so (or even to get in touch with other enthusiasts in the UK), go to http://www.PlanetChristmas.com and join the forum. There are several members from the UK.
Another forum: http://www.MyHolidayDisplays.com
By talking to other members, you will be able to find out the shortcuts as to who delivers to the UK and where to find the best bargains.
Depending on what you want (lights as opposed to airblown inflatables or blowmolds), it is hard to answer your question.
So: I am attaching a link of places to purchase stuff. I do not know if they ship overseas, but there are forum members who can help you with your shipments. The biggest deterrent on shipping overseas, appears to be the collection of duties.
http://www.ChristmasDoneBright.com is a location about 3 hours east of Nashville (just east of Knoxville in Sevierville).
You could contact Chuck Smith, over on PlanetChristmas.com. He lives in Franklin, just outside of Nashville.

Hi Janey,
great idea. I live in the UK too and I also want a really pretty American Decorated Christmas.
This is what I want my house to look like. http://www.komar.org/christmas/2004/christmas-lights.jpg
I think it looks great. I'm buying stuff from these sites: http://www.christmastimeuk.com/
http://www.flyingsanta.co.uk/shop/customer/home.php
http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Browse/catalogId/1500000701/identifier/8961697.htm
Also there's a catalogue called Studio Cards that sells great decorations. Make sure you get a real christmas tree and a wreath too.
Only 96 days to go!

First off, most American homes aren't done up as brillantly as you think. Those are well planned movie sets. It costs money for decorations. Secondly, most are made in China. I don't know what American companies ship to the UK. What exactly are you looking for? Try www.macys.com or www.potterybarn.com. I hope your aunt has room in her luggages for what you expect. She's better off trying to send air mail to you. Not alot of places have Christmas decorations out yet. Have you checked www.ebay.com ?

Some of our neighborhoods to a 'candy cane lane' where every house on the block has a friendly competition to outdo their neighbors. Then people come from all around to look at the houses and their neighborhoods are backed up with cars for days. Yet they still do it again next year, God Bless Them, such fun!
Anyway, lots of us buy our decorations at Walmart and I'm sure they will ship anywhere. Kmart or any of the othe large retailers.

I am with M.G. as far as the cost thing. If one has thousands to spend, of course it could be done and sounds like a lot of fun.
As for me, I will keep to the basics of tree, wreath, and a few other things. I think quality that is the best we can afford combined with quality of good times is the spot-on balance.
And thanks to those who posted the links. If nothing else I will enjoy looking at the things available, affordable or not.

Walmart and Kmart are starting to put out their Christmas stock. The only thing is you may need electrical adapters for our lights, they are two pronged with one side sometimes being larger than the other.
