I have an Dual core 1.8 ghz processor, 1GB of ram and a NX7100Gs graphics card. And still why i cant set the screen resolutin more than 640X480 in games like Quake IV or nfs carbon?i i do so the game doesn't run properly..
What do i do know?

Not familiar with that card. Make sure that it is installed properly and that you are plugged into it, rather than the connector on your mother board. If all seems well, check that you have the proper drivers.

well i know for a fact NFS carbon can act up and not let you change screen resolution if it doesn't want to. my advice - get newest possible driver for the video card, install, and it should work. of course your monitor could be old for all i know and not allow resolutions over 640x480 - altho that would make it an ancient one.

First, try to get the must up to date drivers for your card, this may fix your particular issue, as drivers included on CDs are usually months behind the most up to date nVidia Drivers. Hopefully this solution can fix the issue by simply installing the most up to date drivers.

look in the video card's control panel not the windows control panel and look for the presets for your game if you don't see them go to nvidia's web site and down load the latest drivers for the card and install reboot and in the tray there's a nvidia icon right click on that and go to the control panel and look through there

Did you run the CD that came with the card? That will install a driver for you.
