windows 2000 pro...i cant get past the password and cant get f8 to do anything. cant get on line and icons wont load so how do i get past my forgotten apssword and create another?

There is a linux CD you can boot up and reset the administrator password. It is called Austrumi.

Most of the time there is an administrator password that will let you in. If you can login in as administrator using a blank password. Then you can reset your original password. If the admin password isn't blank then I would go to another computer and search for Utimate boot cd. It has a couple of utilities to get your password reset. Hope that helps.

Get a windows XP CD and reinstall your Operating system. insert cd into the drive and restart your computer, your computer will automatically boot from CD and will ask you if you want to reinstall your operating system.
OR
go to the computer specialist, because you are traped in very dangerous condition. or try to remember your password. F8 button should work.

Password can be reset with free tool from http://home.eunet.no/pnordahl/ntpasswd/ . Need to write it to a bootable floppy or burn a CD.

F8 works, just start tapping on it as soon as you turn on power. You will need to get on safemode to see if you can log in as admin.

try this in usr name box type administartor and press enter if you are not a part of network and you install windows by your self you dont need password
