It would be a sad day for civil liberties.

Makes more sense for the whole world to be forced to quit smoking because second-hand-smoke is bad for babies!

There would be a lot of lawsuits from women who are overweight or suffer from a medical condition which makes them look pregnant. And those who wanted to drink would just get someone else to buy the alcohol. Personal responsibility, guys.

It certainly wouldn't be the end of the world. :) I would say that nothing out of the ordinary would happen. The women who are actually abusing alcohol while pregnant would possibly have a chance at having a baby born without fetal alcohol syndrome.

If a restaurant, or any other establishment with a liquor license for that matter, serves a pregnant woman alcohol, they risk losing their license permanently as well as face a hefty fine.

My husband would get upset lol...If he has a rough day at work I usually pick him a beer on the way to pick him up from work (one car and he doesn't want me home all day with no way out lol)...
Just b/c a pregnant woman is buying alcohol from the store doesn't mean she is going to be the one drinking it.

Then there would be alot of pregnant women wearing baggy clothes and a lot of fat people offended. Good in theory but the logistics are just way too hard.

I think some people who look prego but really are not will be offended when the server asks if they are prego or refuses to sell them alcohol.

I hope it doesn't make a difference. I could never drink or smoke while pregnant. For god sakes i don't even have caffeine.

I hate HATE seeing woman that look beautiful with their babies in belly, then they light a cigarette or have a beer! It is SO gross!! Makes me sick!

I don't know why they don't make it against the law. I can honestly say wouldn't make a difference to the 99% who don't drink or smoke.

A lot of children would be born into better homes and not be born with disorders as a result of their mothers' drinking.
