Hi,
I'm not sure I could ever follow any 'one' religion. However a one I'd like to do some research into is the Quakers.
From what I can gather, Quakers have no dogmas or creeds. They have no one definition of "God".The religious life they experience is personal to each individaul. Their belief is that everyone can have direct experience of the Spirit of God and something of God is expressed in everyone's life.
A lot of what I've read mirrors my own beliefs and I'd certainly like to look into it more, out of curiosity.

Hi Third P.
I am a very religious/spiritual person, always have been.
I am a Christian, and NOTHING could sway me to change what I know in my heart to be true.
You ask, "after our own holy religion...." I don't know exactly what religion or what beliefs you have exactly; but I would hazard a guess that you are Christian, from your answers. Please forgive me if I am wrong.
I know a lot about other religions because I am interested in what other people believe. I also want to respect the beliefs of the many different friends that I have, to be able to wish them well on their holy days. I do not need to believe what they do to have simple respect for what they do believe in.
You ask which religion is the only good one, AFTER our own religion. If I am truly religious & believe with my whole heart, than there can be NO other religion after mine. I'm sure that people who believe in other religions feel the same way.
It is not like discussing, for example, movies. With movies, I can have a favorite one, but after that one, I like this or that one. Those are simply opinions.
Opinion is quite a different matter from belief.
Religious belief is not a matter of opinion, but a whole-hearted belief, something that cannot be changed. It is part of who you are. It is what makes up your life; it affects everything you do in life. It affects what you believe will happen after life is over.
There can be no other "least objectionable" religion. You either believe with your whole being, or you don't. If you do believe with your whole heart, then all other religions must, therefore, be wrong in your eyes.
That does not preclude your having respect for others who have different beliefs. It just means that, for you, there is only the one acceptable choice.
I think that is why people say, "never discuss religion or politics." That's because people usually have very strong beliefs, not opinions, on these matters and, with the wrong people, it can cause many arguments. No one can "win," because we are talking about intense beliefs.
I DO respect other people's right to believe differently, and I DO treat people with respect. However, for me, there cannot be any other belief than Christianity.
I, too, expect to be treated with respect; and I usually am.
Peace.

The Will is positive, the Judgment is negative. All religions rise to oppose the negatives in life, each religion finding its way or path according to their notions for the Creations genesis, according to the notions that describe what they have become as believers in relation to the notions for those forming forces described in the notion. Our Judgment sensitive to contradiction is in its force perfectionistic, resistant to contradiction and therefor resistant to change; the error on the side of caution rule opposes frivolous caprice. We know change is knowledge, so the most objectionable would be the most mindless unreflecting negative religion that resists change to the expense as individual freedom to have freewill, freedom to error, to freely question and describe notions that are alien. The least objectionable religions are those that have no holy property outside the totality of knowable existence and no peculiar property within it; the totality is all equally sacred, but different in its practical human purpose.

All religions are objectionable. They has all out lived their usefulness. We need to evolve new thoughts, but with the current trend of religion re-emerging we are not evolving at all we are regressing into a very sad sorry state which will definitely lead to the demise of the human race.
Regardless I still manage to smile and have a nice day.

I find most human religions objectionable. They are pretty much all anthrocentric, which makes no sense at all. Humans don't have claws for digging, and haven't had the big metal claw things to do their digging for them for very long.
The sky therefore had to have been carved out by one of us. Only the great Seytnurr, the Iron Badger, could have had the strength and claws to do such a thing.
Human religion is just coddling fantasy.

The only good religion as far as I am concerned is the one that directs and gives you the foundation upon which the belief is based.
It allows you to take those concepts and apply them to your life as you feel, to build upon precepts and then to interpret or read them.
I do not want any preachers, mullah, priests, or leader of any church or ancient religious beliefs telling me how THEY think I SHOULD act, or respond to any given situtation and this includes marching oders.
I do not want a religion that condemns the thoughts of others either through its past or through it present leaders.
And I do not want any government being the end of all by proclaiming it is the only means of your life, and that it will ban all religious thoughts and ideals.
In the end...some religion is better than none. But only if everyone is allowed to form their concepts after carefully hearing the words of those, that have written them or presented/ing them.
I am a strong believer in spiritual interpret not that of mans. (material concepts). I do not care for MANS DOCTRINES OF GOD.

"After our own holy religion"...What kind of bias is that? All organised religions are harmful. The only least objectionable religion is 'humanity' or 'humaneness'..... whatever...the followers of which are kind to other human beings and treat them at par. Now which organised religion does that? History of all religions is full of violence...
Thanks for a thumb down. So much for tolerance and liberty of personal view....

If nothing else, this should generate some interesting answers âº
My people consider that each individuals relationship with the Spirit World is about as deep and personal as a thing can get. It's really not discussed much, but we believe that the noture of the original creator is reflected in all things.

All religions have been tainted by man, therefore making none of them holy.
Honestly all religions were founded with a good intent, as far as we know. So in modern times a religion is only as good as the people who are a part of it.
