as long as it is not more than your credit limit and the seller accepts credit cards

Technically "YES". You can certainly buy a pulsar 150cc using your credit card. However, there are certain factors that would govern the real scenario. Let me explain those -

1. The status of the seller: The seller from whom you are going to buy the covetted pulsar must be a registered merchant to a recognized credit card authority (e.g. Visa, Mastercard, Amex, or all of these). Normally, the merchant registration happens through a participating bank, and the seller needs to have these registration formalities completed before you actually make the buy.

2. Your Credit Card: You credit card must belong to a credit card authority for which the seller is a registered merchant. As example, if you hold a Visa credit card, the seller must be registered merchant for Visa.

3. Your Credit Limit: You must have adequate line of credit to make this purchase. As example, if your credit limit is just INR 10000, then you would not be able buy the pulsar even if both #1 and #2 hold good. But if your credit limit is above INR 100000, then it would just a matter of flashing the card.

It may be worth noting that the merchant (in this case seller of the pulsar) needs to pay a transaction fee of 2.5% to the various participating authorities after the transaction happens. This would erode the profit margin of the seller and he/she may like to pass this onto you. For a pulsar, you may not see that the seller is asking for more money than the list price, but he/she may not give you adequate discount on the list price, which you could otherwise obtain by paying through cheque or hard-cash.

My recommendation would be to validate this aspect of buying as well and then make a buy decision using credit card. Happy buying.....

Yes, but they might charge you an extra 3% to cover what the credit card issuer charges dealers.
