super question and super article Jack. you have some super solutions, which I believe. i think of the McCann's have continually manipulated the media, perfect from the commencing up. What a stupid statement by the original poster. (Agreed, it is not a question.)
Every day something surfaces that contradicts previous information. It is the speculative media rollercoaster that has to be stopped, not the McCanns.
Obviously the ‘propaganda campaign’ against them started in the first few hours after Madeleine went missing, with the PJ leaking incorrect information implying their guilt, while the McCanns themselves were fulfilling the Portugese secrecy laws.
We are all going round in circles here. The focus should be on finding the missing child.

I think you vastly over rate the power of the McCanns. I expect they'd prefer the media did not print ridiculous rumours and spend time reporting on reports from other sections of the media. It's got completely out of hand.

Actually I think it's more that the police of a popular European tourist area are now manipulating the situation through the media to save face & not lose any of their rich tourists simply because they've botched the investigation so incredibly thoroughly. Now off you go - perhaps to Aruba to right all the wrongs in investigations there.
