By todays sporting standards I would have to say yes. He stays out of trouble and plays the game hard. The only knock on him has been his injuries. And most of those came by exerting extra effort on the field

Yes, I do. I've never heard of him being within even a whisper of any trouble. He does a lot of community work. He took a below market contract so he could move his kids close to family. He plays hard all the time. He's good to fans.
As someone else pointed out, his injuries have all come from too much effort. You might wish he was more careful at time, but how much can you blame a guy for trying too hard.
It's so absurd that early in his career he was criticized for being too carefree. Wearing his cap sideways during batting practice, smiling too much. Then, later, he was criticized for being a grump. What do people want from this guy? He's one of the most gifted and talented athlete to ever play baseball. Willie Mays, himself, said that Jr is the one player who reminded him of himself!
What more can anyone want from somone?

Griffey Jr is a good guy....He is not all EGO...If his injuries didn't keep him out of the game for so long he would have been the one to break Arron's record and it would have been fun to watch then the idiot who is currently the home run record holder

I would have to agree. In this day and age for major league athletes, you could consider him a "good guy". I know from experience as a fan he was not the most fan orientated player in the history of the mlb, but at that time he was very young and maybe a little self centered. I think as he is maturing and becoming a veteran in the league he is realizing it is tha fans that pay that fat salary every year.

Griffey is one of the best. He is great in the clubhouse, never causes any problems for his team and is good with the fans. He is a real asset to the game.

He's not a good guy, he's a great role model for any kid, EXCEPT don't follow him with injuries...
It's truly sad to see him winding his career down with a sad team and consistently getting injured... his overall chances of winning a title probably would have been better with another team, even the Cubs...

Junior is a throwback. He leaves it on the field. No off field drama, family man. No stripp club sightings, no pictures with porn stars. Just a str8 shooter. Plays the game like Ronnie Lott, injuries kept his stats down, but us true fans recognize his HOF play.

I think he's great. He handles his fame and fortune well, especially for a professional athlete when you look at what some of the other fools have done.
