Macbooks run OSX instead of Windows. You won't be able to run Windows software on OSX. You can add Windows to a Macbook using Apples free Bootcamp software, but you'll have to buy a copy of Windows to do it.

LAPtop not loptop.

The difference between Apple Macs and 'other' laptops is that Apple run MacOs operating system and applications for MacOs and 'others' run Windows operating system and applications for Windows.

Or any of them will run varieties of the Linux operating system... if you choose to go down that route.

Which is better? It totally depends what you want to use a laptop for and which operating system best supports the best applications *you* want to use.

Apple tends to be used by graphics designers and similar users. For ordinary office stuff Windows tends to be the commonest. But both Apple and 'other' laptops will do most jobs, so it's ultimately a matter of choice and budget - Apple are more expensive than cheap Windows laptops.

Personally, I use Linux... so I could use either Apple or 'other' laptops!

Apple have their own computer system and operating system. All other laptops use Microsoft operating system. The best thing is to go and look at both types on in-store displays, and decide which one you prefer
