Buy something like Benefiber and add it to your food. It is a powder with no taste and smell and does not change the thickness of the food. It will help you to get regular.

You probably need to drink more water and add more fruits and vegetables to your diet. Stewed prunes might help, and make a tasty desert with ice cream! :-)
If it is truly bad, you can go to the store (drug or grocery) and find a cherry or a lemon-lime flavored Magnesium soda drink. Only drink about one quarter of a bottle at first, as it is very strong. You should get relief.

Well, I think it bored down to your dietary habit whether there are sufficient fruits, veges and cereal intakes that contain fibre which help in your motion. Taking prune juice is also a good try no harm anyway.

Once to three times a day is normal variation, unless it's watery. It should be soft, but well-formed. If it's more often on the weekend, find out what you are eating/drinking that is different then.

Try increasing your fiber intake.
It is usually a good thing to go after every meal, but once a day is sufficient. If you feel uncomfortable, try taking a product containing psyllium.

Drink a lot of water and other healthy liquids. And maybe you should try a stool softener.
