In a horribly weak Eastern conference there are really 3-4 top teams, everyone else is just working for scraps.
MIAMI IS NOT AN ELITE TEAM. They had one year where all the chips fell in their favor but they are not elite. Shaq is nearing the end of his days, i imagine 14/6 from him by the end of the year if even.
So boston will win the Atlantic, i think that's going to be a given. But its still going to be tough going against strong defensive teams like Chicago, Cleveland, and Detroit. Boston has tons of great offensive firepower but the problem with age is sagging defense. And i have a feeling boston's D isn't going to be that strong.

They'll get to the finals in the East and win the division. A title could still be stretch, but this team could even do some damage against some of the West's top teams. Teams can't solely gang up on Paul Pierce anymore and they have a great inside-out game too. They can really spread other teams out and they got a defensive stopper in Posey and a scorer off the bench in House.
They could be a little defensively challenged and lack some backcourt depth, but this team is easily in the top two in the East. Cleveland really hasn't addressed their PG issues, Chicago is still too small and young, NJ is too old and the other Atlantic teams are young and building towards the future.

If the steelers stay wholesome: 14-2, branch and Superbowl Champs. in the event that they do no longer: 10-6, omit the playoffs on the final activity of the season while some scrub team like the buffalo charges, tennessee titans or jags beat some scrubbier team from the NFC to take the final wildcard spot. or 10-6, and on Christmas Day, at Heinz, we beat the Ravens in a 4th quarter comeback on a eighty backyard Rothlisberger force for the tiebreaker, triumphing the branch and occurring to the playoffs, basically to lose interior the 1st around because of the fact of a miles less costly shot by employing ed reed on willie parker throughout that activity that positioned him on the IR. And, that loss on Dec twenty 5th reasons the ravens to end with a ten-6 checklist, yet because of the fact we beat them, we win the branch, and then 10-6 isn't a stable adequate checklist for the wildcard, so the ravens are out!

ok this is what i gotta say i think boston will make the playoffs BUT they wont win a ring just yet 1st off can they beat the suns spurs or the mavs? its gunna be there 1st year together at teammates u remember when shaq kobe payton and malone tryed it for 1 year? how did they do vs the pistons but if they dont do it in the next 2-3 years then the team gets older and the players they got get older and whats gunna happen is there gunna turn into a lottery picking team starting over again as for makeing it to the finals if they can work good at a team and play team ball like pippen and jorden then all they have to do is beat detroit or bulls which r the 2 best teams in the east

I agree with you. So far the toughest division in the East is the Central where the good teams are loaded (Detroit, Cleveland, Chicago, Indiana, Milwaukee...). But really when you think of Boston and their team built you could almost say that this is a championship contender. Getting Garnett and Allen was not enough they also got Posey and House. They surrounded themselves with quality guys that could be critical come play-off time.
So this team is hype worthy if you ask me. And it's very easy for them to win the title.... The Atlantic Divison title that is. But they still have a long climb up ahead for them. Because really the beasts of the east are just waiting come the play-offs.
Hope this helps.

They can get to the conference finals...since they have tony allen, baby shaq davis and james posey off the bench. If the allen and pierce don't get injuries then they have a chance in even winning the title...The raptors are still too inexperienced and the nets too old to compete with the cavs, pistons or celtics. The heat line up is pretty bad and wade is still banged up, and walker sucks.

The Atlsntic division and possibly the Eastern conference or not.Cleveland,Detroit,Miami and Chicago stand in their way.If they amazingly survive them, its gonna be a 4-0 with Phoenix,San Antonio,Dallas,Denver or a whole load of great teams from the west!

Ok, it's like this, and we all know it is true.......the East sucks, it is total and utter BS.....the Cavaliers may have been the worst ever team to go to the NBA finals(btw, I like in a suburb of Cleveland, and am a Cavs fan, yet the truth is the truth).....Boston.......ahhh.....not that great, Ray, I mean will he got his looks with Pierce shooting it 25 times a game, the Big Ticket will do his part, of that I am sure, but I'll still give this division to Toronto....Sam Mitchell has an eye for talent that is overlooked, and even though the fairy Bargnani sucked, he still managed to put up a good record this past season..........Boston will not win the title, they will get drummed in the semi's by Detroit, and then Detroit and Cleveland can fight over who is going to get killed by the WC champ in the Eastern finals.........

Overrated, the C's are. Division title is all they're going to win. Bird, McHale, and (gulp) Ainge era was way better.
