Why would you delete a friend?
Hmmm.
Let us say they are not a friend.
What are you calling stalking?
If it is malicious it not stalking, it is harrassment.
If it is not malicious then it is a form of courting, trying let you know that they still want to be your friend even though you don't want to be theirs. If you did that to me I can't say I would react differently.
You formed a relationship, for good or for bad and you can't assume because you have found closure that the other person has found closure as well.
Remember this has nothing to do with a malicious follower. Those you report. They lose their account and that is that.
For the person who is not your friend but wants to pretend that you will accept them into your friendship later, you just be casual and see where it goes. It may go no where. They may move on and you may be worrying about nothing.
Anyway, don't let the situation change who you are. That would be wrong.
Good Luck.
PS. with as many contacts and fans as you have I am surprised that you have not had this problem before.
Face it. You are popular.
Smile.

fairly than stewing approximately it, i might deliver a short question, friendly in tone till i found out the why. If it grew to become out to be on purpose.. then I flow on. think of roughly it.. Yahoo and 360.. no longer precisely the epitome of excellence in technical success.

Your best bet would be to block that person and not give them the attention they are seeking

Hmmmm...
It would never come to that...
You must be firm...
Do not give them any attention...
Not negative or positive...
Complete block-out...
It is the only way...
They are looking for a reaction...
So you mustn't react...
Eventually they will lose interest...
