their positive outlook and happy-go-lucky attitude effectively covers up the hardships they've had to endure in their lives. Filipinos are the most uniquely resilient people ever.

Don't be surprised if most of the answers are positive cause the Filipino people, more often than not, sees the glass half-full.

Positively speaking, Filipinos are happy-go-lucky people with strong family ties and good work ethics. Mostly a Christian race. Filipinos are used to work (money being hard to come by in the Philippines) and they have good improvisational skills (resource being limited and all).

Negatively speaking, they are easily swayed by their environment. Elections are more of popularity contests. Smoking and drinking naturally occurs through out the day (only in the Philippines). The TV is almost never off though out the day. Almost every week, a fiesta or festival to commemorate a saint is held somewhere.

Most of the negatives only happen within the Philippines. Those who are working outside the country are the cream of the crop.

Filipinos, generally speaking, are known for their hospitality... They are friendly people... Filipino Family has very strong ties and bonds... they are linguists, religious (most are Christians), happy, respectful, talented, music-lovers, hard-working, and intelligent (of course not everybody, but many of them)... Philippine Schools are globally competitive as well as their students... when you come into their country, their goal is to make you satisfied and make you come back again... Filipino foods are great, and their culture is one of a kind (fusion of Hispanic, Asian, and American cultures)...

negatively speaking, Philippines has been getting a bad reputation because of the corrupt government officials, the war in Mindanao (generally, Christians VS Muslims), and poverty...

but despite of these circumstances, WE are still proud...

I am Aref, a Filipino. Please to meet you, Nadine. Are you from the Philippines or from another part of the world? I wish you would let us know, that we may also send greetings to your own land, if you are not one of us.

There is a song that rings in my ear whenever I hear questions like this that you have posted. I don't know if it is from Joan Baez or from Peter, Paul & Mary. "My country's skies are bluer than the ocean, and sunlight shines on clover, leaf and pine. But other lands have sunlight, too and clover.
And skies, everywhere, as blue as mine. Oh, hear my plea, O God of all the nations. A song of peace, for their lands and for mine." I think, Nadine, all Filipinos, not just me, sing this song in their hearts and minds.
