Your background report usually gives a detailed report on your employment history, wages, title/position and time you worked for the employeer.

Most companies are now doing employment, criminal and credit backgrounds as part of their prescreening for employment.

It depends on the type of job you are applying for. The more important the job is to the company, the more in-depth a background check will be.

A basic background check usually is just a check to verify employment and criminal history for the past 7 years. An in-depth one to work for CIA or FBI could involve someone going out to interview everyone you know back to your pre-school teacher.

Again, depending on the type of job, you may have to sign a full release that allows the potential employer to be considered any further in the application process whereby they can get any information your former employer is willing to release.

I do not know but soon it will not matter, the FBI and CIA will hopefully be disbanded and soon. They are no longer on our side and must go.
