Zinik marcus blacks 22" x 9.5." tires would be 305/45R22. the section width is coming out to be 12 inches. the offset on the rims is 0 (zero). So, what is the backspacing? is it 6"? a light explanation would be appreciated. thx in advance

Backspacing is the distance from the hub mounting flange of the wheel to the outside edge of the backside of the rim---zero offset should equal 6 inches backspace for a 12 inch wide rim---not the tire width. https://www.rsracing.com/tech-wheel.html
