I think it wasnt best for justice but it was best for Las Vegas prison system.
Too expensive to baby him.
And like they said on a newscast....the jury wont have sympathy on him or no one can say he has been mistreated.
So thats a good ploy I would think.
Sucks to watch, but in the end hopefully it means that people will focus on just the facts of this case.
And if they do..it will all catch up with O.J. finally.
I jkust wonder how O.j. supporters are going to complain and defend him after he goes to jail this time.

Bail is set for all but the very worst crimes or when someone is a flight risk. You can be charged with anything, but what's proven is sometimes vastly different. The $125,000 bail isn't a gift to the court and couldn't go to the families. It simply serves as a guarantee that OJ will appear for trial and he mostly likely didn't have to put up anymore than 10% of the total amount as is customary in almost all cases.

I don't see how you can be sued for a murder you were never proven to have committed anyways. But to get to your point, a poor person would have been out on bail IF he could come up with $125,000. Yeah, it is kind of crappy that OJ can get the money but others couldn't but I am not going to complain to much about the bail system. On a lesser case I would rather not rot in prison when I could pay a few thousand. Besides, if you appear in court you get the money back.

it is normal for bail to be set in cases like these and 125k is about right.
I am just suprised they set bail for him becuase of his low speed chase in the white bronco should have set him as a flight risk. the DA must not have pushed the no bail very hard they probably just settled for a high amount for the reason that was already stated. That they wanted to avoid any mistreatment claims by OJ. They figure they will have him for long enough soon enough.
for the person who didnt understand how he could lose the wrongful death suit after being found not gulty. It's easy in criminal court you have to find him guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in civil court they just have to find a preponderence of evidence in other words they just have to be 51% sure he did it.
Plus the rules of evidence are not the same the stuff he got thrown out on technicalities in criminal trail didnt get thrown out in civil.
ADDITION: it never ceases to amaze me that no matter what question is asked on here someone somehow finds a way to get a dig on bush in. OJ's Bail hmmm how is bush responsible....Sad and pitiful that is how it makes people look. If they kept their argument to something relevant people might actually listen to what they have to say. This is why they read stuff and pass it by.

Well they had to give him a light bond , because if they gave him a heavy bond Al , and Jesse would be all over them...they had to make it affordable as not to be racist , now a poor black man would need millions because that is affordable for the poor ....You know this .....
Was it a cash bond for the full amount, or just a regular 125,000 bond . If so he may have set a National Record with this one , find out and call Ripley's because on most regular bonds you only have to put up 10% of the bond amount.....and beat feet to the house

First of all this is bail. If convicted he will still have to serve whatever sentence is appropriate.
Second the lawsuit you mention was a civil one - it is unrelated and irrelevant to the criminal charge he now faces.
Third - assuming he appears in court for this charge he will get his $125,000 (or whatever portion he produced himself) back. Then he can use it to pay whatever other debts would be owed.
There is nothing about any of this that is solely for OJ. It is possible poor people may have a tougher time making bail than him but that is hardly limited to him.

No, the purpose of bail is to ensure the person appears. $125,000 represents two or three years' salary for the average person, but it's just a few speeches or an old trophy to OJ. His bail should have been 2 or 3 million cash.

Yes it is fair, here our constitution gives us all rights that under law must be used for everyone. He is innocent until proven guilty. Bail can not be excessive and he is fortunate to be able to pay the bail. I do not like him any more than you do but he is still entitled to due process. That is why this country is so great ..... we have rights, rights bush has been trying to steal from us but we will not let him he is finished doing harm to this country. UNITE and throw him out and his buddies in the federal reserve.

No, it's not fair. And as someone that has had numerous run-ins with the law...I can assure you that poor people have a very hard time with the courts compared to wealthy people. That's the way the world works.

I was hoping they'd hold him, but maybe there giving him a chance to get rid of all his belongings because they know he'll be back for a very long time.
I'm just glad they took his passport also, because you know he would flee the country if he could.
OJ's gloves didn't fit because he washed them afterwards, and leather shrinks after getting wet. I'm surprised the prosecuters and Jury didn't realize that.
