Yes, and it is true that baby koalas need to eat their mother's feces in order to be able to eat eucalyptus.

Same thing with termites and eating wood--they eat adult droppings in order to get the bacteria in their gut to be able to digest the wood.

No it isn't. Koalas ferment eucalyptus leaves in their guts. The leaves are mildly soporific. Newly born koalas cannot digest eucalypts as they lack the bacteria necessary. They eat their mother's faeces which provides the necessary flora for when they are weaned.

i dont know about allergic but i heard that they get drunk off eating the leaves thats why tey are always so dozy and spacey

yes...the allergy is so mild it doesnt have adverse effects but they are allergic
