Yes...science has used Mitochondrial DNA evidence to trace our (human) lineage all the way back to a single female hominid (That they aptly named "Eve")...So in that respect, one could say that we are indeed all "related"...But you've got to go way, way, WAY back on the old "family tree".
The people you call "Cavemen" were called Neanderthals...and they weren't in our lineage...they were indeed another species of "human" that died out...possibly wiped out by disease...or killed off by our ancestor "Cro- Magdon" man.
And for those that don't believe in the theory of evolution...and that man did not "evolve" from apes....
Out of the billions and billions of strands of code in our DNA...only a very small few separates our DNA from that of a chimpanzee...so much so that we can give and receive blood transfusions with them and survive!
....Something ELSE to think about!

We are cousins! Every human on earth is related to every other human and that includes former humans known as "cavemen". As evidence I offer the fact that all humans can interbreed AND you can receive donated organs from people all over the world due to genetic similarities.

Yes, we absolutely are. Even if you are to restrict the term to Neanderthal we are still distantly related.
