You are completely right..even if we believe that they are innocent their behaviour is appalling and they deserve every bit of derision and criticism as they have bought it all on themselves.
I personnaly believe that all their actions, body language are so at odds with what you would expect from innocent victims.
I believe they killed their daughter. I just hope that he PJ have enough evidence to charge them.
Have you noticed hat the Local Priest has gone missing??

It hasn`t helped,,the £80,000 set aside for a new campaign to look for her is not going to go far,,,they are more preoccupied with protecting themselves than any searching,,leaving no stone unturned (as they put it) didn`t materialise,,,they have done nothing in searching for their child,,the European tour was a waste of time other than to alert crank sightings .....they have gone back on virtually every statement made from not leaving Portugal without her to the original statements to employing a private detective.(which they can`t in Portugal under Portuguese law)....The sorry saga continues

I thought it was really funny how they scurried back to the UK once they found out they were under suspicion. They just ran away from the problem instead of facing it.

The Portuguese police made them suspects after they became aware that the McCann's were planning to return home so their two other kids could return to a more normal life. They can and have maintained their pressure to keep up the search from the UK.

Perhaps they thought they would be arrested and the police would then believe they have caught the perpetrators of the crime, leaving Madeleine's abductors free to get away with their crime.
What difference does it make - whatever they do they are criticised. They must do as they feel best.

You can't do much to find your missing child from a prison cell.
Also, once imprisoned, wrongly, the case would be treated as closed & the search for Madeleine given up.
Clearing themselves from guilt of murdering their Madeleine is hence vitally crucial to finding her.
